DNA Testing to Ensure a Healthy Child and Reduce the Risk of Miscarriage
- Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD);
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis - PGD - is a method that allows performing genetic diagnostics of the embryo before the IVF procedure (In Vitro Fertilization). The aim of the diagnosis is to provide a possibility to give birth to healthy embryos. This procedure allows us to monitor the pregnancy of healthy embryos and prevent the need to terminate the pregnancy artificially.
NGS (high throughput sequencing), also called Next Generation Sequencing, is the newest and most comprehensive chromosome screening test that began to be included in Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGT) methods for IVF treatment as a technology used in whole chromosome screening. The NGS method is a comprehensive chromosome analysis method that is applied to embryos prior to transfer as part of IVF treatment and detects genetic problems in the embryos' chromosomes. Our goal is to select healthy embryos by performing embryo genetic analysis prior to transfer and, of course, to increase the chances of a healthy pregnancy using this method.
At Delivering Dreams, we use NGS, the most advanced technology. This ensures not only that the information provide is very accurate, but that there is not damage or effects on the actual embryos.
