YOUR UKRAINIAN SURROGACY PROCESS STEP BY STEP

1

Consultation

Speak with us to get all your questions answered, address your concerns, and gain a clear understanding of the process. It is essential you feel confident and comfortable before moving forward. To recommend the surrogacy program most likely to succeed for you, we ask for your previous medical history, test results, prior IVF protocols, embryo development videos, and any other relevant records. Our doctors review this information at no charge and give honest input on your real success rates and the program best suited to your situation. This free analysis helps you avoid treatments with a low probability of success, saves money, and improves your chances by ensuring the medical team is fully informed. Together you decide which program fits your situation and budget — or we build a personalized program around your unique needs.

2

CONCLUDE OUR SERVICES AGREEMENT

We help you compile all required legal, medical, and shipping documentation — drafting every necessary document and providing clear instructions and contacts. Some countries require specific paperwork at the start or at defined points during the surrogacy process; we make sure everything is filed correctly and on time. If we are unable to complete your documentation and get you accepted into a Ukrainian surrogacy program, we refund your first payment in full.

The next steps can happen in different order depending on whether you already have embryos, are using a donor, or are moving forward with your own biological material. We oversee the entire shipping process if necessary.
3

DONOR SELECTION

We work with your criteria and timeline to present outstanding egg donors in Ukraine. Our donors undergo the most thorough testing of any agency in Ukraine. While donors are anonymous under Ukrainian law, you receive photos, height, weight, education level, and full medical history. Many are repeat donors, and we can share their past success records to help you choose with confidence. You can also review our donor database to compare available profiles.

4

IVF+ICSI+PGD 24

Our embryologists create and carefully nurture your embryos to 5- or 6-day blastocysts as part of your surrogacy program. We strongly recommend preimplantation genetic testing (PGD-24) on all embryos to identify chromosomal abnormalities — this significantly improves the chance of a successful pregnancy. PGD-24 also enables gender selection in eligible cases. Results are typically available within three weeks, after which remaining viable embryos are cryopreserved.

5

SURROGATE SELECTION

We select surrogates based on your preferences, blood type, your country's legal requirements, and the level of contact you would like to have with them. This is entirely up to you. We encourage and facilitate close contact so you can be part of your child's first nine months. You may ask as many questions as you like about your surrogate and meet her virtually or in person before proceeding. Learn more about how surrogates are selected and supported.

6

TRANSFER/IMPLANTATION DAY

On transfer day, the embryologist selects the highest-graded embryo that passed PGD-24 screening. The transfer itself is a brief, minimally invasive procedure — no general anesthesia is required. We typically transfer a single blastocyst to maximize safety for both your surrogate and baby. Any remaining viable embryos stay cryopreserved for future use. Ten days after the transfer, your surrogate takes a blood test to confirm pregnancy.

7

Pregnancy

The pregnancy blood test is taken 10 days after the transfer — it can feel like forever! You receive results that day or the next. Throughout the pregnancy your surrogate is monitored continuously, visiting the clinic at least twice a month. Her personal coordinator and a member of our team visit once a month to verify that everything is well — both with her health and her living environment. At month five she moves closer to our clinics in Kyiv or Lviv for constant monitoring. The apartments are comfortable, and surrogates are encouraged to bring their children and have loved ones stay with them. We facilitate whatever level of relationship you would like with your surrogate throughout the pregnancy. You receive reports on all tests and doctor visits, can attend ultrasounds in person or watch remotely, and may request drug, alcohol, and smoking tests as often as you like. Read about how we monitor and support surrogates during pregnancy.

8

Delivery

For donor programs or programs using shipped embryos or biological material, you only need to visit Ukraine once — for delivery. If you plan to provide your own eggs for IVF, several options exist with varying travel requirements. With your surrogate under constant monitoring, we will let you know when to make your way to Ukraine. You are welcome to be present at the birth unless there are medical complications. Your child stays in the maternity hospital for 3–5 days. Most packages include a private room so you can stay with your child around the clock. Learn about birth location options and delivery support.

9

Going home

We prepare the Ukrainian birth certificate in your names as parents, with no mention of a surrogate or donor. From there, each country requires its own documentation process to obtain passports and exit clearance. The cost varies by country and is included in select programs. See our FAQ on legal and exit documentation for country-specific guidance.

Under Ukrainian law, surrogacy is a legal, affordable option for traditionally married couples who cannot carry a child due to a medical condition, or who have had four or more unsuccessful IVF attempts. Couples may use their own embryos or work with an egg or sperm donor. See our legal overview and frequently asked questions for eligibility details.

FAQ - How Surrogacy Works in Ukraine

Who is eligible for surrogacy in Ukraine?
Under Ukrainian law, surrogacy is available to traditionally married couples who have a medical reason they cannot carry a pregnancy, or who have had four or more unsuccessful IVF attempts. Both gestational surrogacy with a donor egg and with the intended mother's own eggs are permitted. See the full legal overview or our FAQ on eligibility and documentation for country-specific details.
How long does the surrogacy process take from start to finish?
The full journey typically takes 12 to 18 months, depending on your program and starting point. The consultation and documentation stage takes 1 to 3 months, donor selection and IVF with PGD-24 add 6 to 10 weeks, surrogate matching typically happens within days, and pregnancy runs 38 to 40 weeks. Use our surrogacy timeline estimator for a personalized projection based on your situation.
What is the difference between FET, Donor, and Own Oocyte programs?
The three paths differ by whose biological material is used. The FET program is for couples who already have frozen embryos, so no IVF in Ukraine is needed. The Donor program uses a screened egg donor with the intended father's sperm, and the intended mother does not need to travel for IVF. The Own Oocytes program uses the intended mother's eggs and requires her presence in Ukraine for egg retrieval. Each path comes in Standard, Success, and Unlimited tiers. See all surrogacy programs to compare.
How much does surrogacy in Ukraine cost?
Total costs range from approximately $67,700 for an FET Standard program to $103,700 for the Donor Guaranteed program. All programs include agency coordination, legal support, IVF with PGD-24, surrogate care, and a VIP maternity room at delivery. Payments are milestone-based, so you pay as the process advances rather than all at once. See the full cost breakdown and program pricing for details.
What happens if the embryo transfer does not result in pregnancy?
It depends on your program tier. Standard includes one transfer. Success includes a conditional second transfer at a reduced cost if the first does not result in a confirmed heartbeat. Unlimited covers unlimited transfers from one IVF cycle at no additional charge. See all guarantees and protections in detail.
Can I choose my surrogate and stay in contact with her during the pregnancy?
Yes. Surrogates are matched based on your preferences, blood type, and your country's legal requirements. You may review her profile, ask any questions you like, and meet her virtually or in person before the transfer. During the pregnancy, we facilitate whatever level of contact you choose, from regular video updates to in-person visits and attendance at the birth. Learn more about how surrogates are selected and supported.
Do intended parents need to travel to Ukraine?
For FET and Donor programs, only one trip to Ukraine is required, for the delivery. You do not need to be present for the IVF procedure or embryo transfer. If you are using your own eggs, you will also travel for egg retrieval. We coordinate all logistics, keep you fully informed throughout the pregnancy remotely, and let you know when it is time to travel for the birth.
Can single men have children through surrogacy?
Ukrainian law restricts domestic surrogacy to married couples. However, Delivering Dreams offers a dedicated surrogacy program for single men through our Ghana location, where surrogacy for single parents is legally permitted. The program uses a donor egg and costs approximately $83,000 all-inclusive, with the birth taking place in Ghana and full legal parentage established there.
